THE SIGNIFICANCE OF WINTER SOLSTICE
The Winter Solstice marks the longest night of the year. A powerful threshold moment that has been honoured across cultures and centuries. It is the point at which the earth tilts furthest from the sun, cloaking us in our deepest darkness before the gradual return of the light begins.
This is not a moment to rush through. The Solstice invites stillness, introspection, and the quiet wisdom that only arrives when we stop and truly listen. It asks us to honour what has passed, to release what no longer serves, and to plant the seeds of intention that will carry us through the winter months ahead.
In honouring this turning, we say a meaningful farewell to Autumn, thanking it for its harvest, its colour, its lessons, and we open ourselves to Winter's particular medicine: rest, depth, and renewal.
ABOUT THE EVENING
Clayful Pottery Studio's ceramic teacher Clare and Renewed Perspectives' Creative Arts Therapist Sarah are coming together to host this special Winter Solstice grounding event — a gentle and meaningful way to farewell Autumn and welcome the turning of the season.
As the nights lengthen and the air deepens, this intimate evening blends the earthy, hands-on magic of clay with the soulful, reflective practice of Soul Collage. Sarah will hold space for reflection, self-expression, and mindful connection, whilst Clare will guide you in shaping and forming with clay.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Together, we'll move through an evening that flows like the season itself:
Farewell Autumn. Through Soul Collage, you'll look back on the season — honouring what was, acknowledging what you've harvested, and gently releasing what has run its course.
Welcome Winter. Step into the new season with open arms, exploring what Winter's quiet asks of you and embracing its invitation to slow down and go inward.
Set your intentions. Take the insights from your Soul Collage and distil them into a single, meaningful intention to carry with you through the months ahead.
Create with clay. You'll craft a handmade tealight holder to take home - lighting it through the dark winter nights as a beautiful reminder to return to your intention, and to the stillness you found here.
Connect. Share this threshold moment with others in a warm, supportive space.
