Art therapy is a form of psychotherapy that uses creative processes such as music, painting, clay, movement, and talking, guided by registered and trained creative arts therapists. It focuses on emotional healing and self-expression, often supporting individuals dealing with feelings of being stuck, emotional or mental health issues, and trauma. By using creative arts as a medium, it provides a safe and interactive way to work through difficult content. While art classes focus on developing artistic skills and techniques, art therapy is centered on therapeutic growth and personal expression, helping individuals explore what is not yet known or find a renewed perspective.
Early intervention provides proactive support for children showing early signs of developmental delays or disabilities, aiming to address concerns as early as possible—ideally in the first few years of life. Early intervention increases the likelihood of improving skills and abilities, while minimising long-term challenges. It is especially important in the early years when brain development is most critical.
One effective approach is DIR/Floortime, which focuses on emotional and developmental growth through engaging, child-led interactions. DIR stands for Developmental, Individual-differences, and Relationship-based, while Floortime involves connecting with children at their developmental level through play.
DIR/Floortime supports the development of key skills, including communication, emotional regulation, motor skills (fine and gross), speech, motor planning, and executive functioning. By tailoring interventions to each child’s needs, this approach promotes emotional, social, and cognitive growth in a nurturing and fun environment. It is particularly beneficial for children with autism or other developmental challenges, helping them build essential skills and strengthen their emotional well-being.
Yes! Please contact us if you would like us to run a group session at organisation.
In order to cancel a session, please SMS, email or leave a voicemail at least 48 hours before your or your child’s consultation. Failure to give 48 hour’s notice for any reason will result in a cancellation fee of $97 for Therapy Consultations. Failure to give 24 hour’s notice for any reason will result in a cancellation fee of $193.99 for Therapy Consultations. If you or your child are unable to attend a session in person, please let us know if you would like a parent session via phone or video appointment in lieu of your booked session. A limited number of cancelled appointments may be claimed through NDIS funding, please consult current NDIS guidelines regarding this.
We charge $193.99 per hour for all appointments with qualified therapists. Please note that the fee for individual sessions includes 45 minutes of direct therapy time, which may involve working directly with the child as well as the caregiver. In addition to this direct therapy time, each appointment involves 15 minutes of indirect associated time required to provide comprehensive treatment to your child, including documenting session notes, goals and outcomes, developing resources and treatment plans and/or liaising with other professionals involved in your child’s care.
Please understand that discussing goals and progress, providing verbal or written recommendations, strategies and updates to caregivers is integral to the therapeutic process and therefore is included within billable direct therapy time. Therefore, any phone and email correspondence greater than 10 minutes may also be charged as a consultation at the rate of $193.99 per hour.
